Our Junior Krav Maga classes are designed to help children aged 7–12 become more confident, calmer under pressure, and harder to bully, in a fun, structured, and supportive environment.
This isn’t about turning children into fighters.
It’s about helping them feel safer, stronger, and more self-assured in everyday life.
What Your Child Gains From Our Classes
Parents consistently tell us they see real changes, not just in class, but at home and at school.
Through our Junior programme, children develop:
✅ Confidence to stand tall, make eye contact, and speak up
✅ Emotional control when faced with stress or confrontation
✅ Awareness skills that help them avoid trouble in the first place
✅ Resilience to cope with bullying, setbacks, and peer pressure
✅ Respect and self-discipline that support learning and behaviour
These are skills that stay with them long after class ends.
How Our Classes Are Structured
Each class follows a clear, age-appropriate structure so children feel safe, supported, and successful.
Classes are:
✅ Fun, energetic, and engaging
✅ Carefully supervised at all times
✅ Built around positive reinforcement
✅ Designed for all abilities, not just sporty kids
✅ Children progress at their own pace while building confidence week by week.
✅ A Smarter Approach to Self-Protection
Many parents worry that self-defence teaches aggression or takes years to work.
Our Approach Is Different
We teach children to:
✅ Avoid trouble through awareness and confidence
✅ Use their voice and body language to set boundaries
✅ Stay calm under pressure
✅ Protect themselves only if necessary
This makes your child less likely to be targeted, which is the most effective form of self-defence.
Why Parents Trust Our Juniors Programme
Our Junior classes are part of Krav Maga Somerset, led by instructors with over a three decade of teaching experience and backgrounds in professional self-protection and coaching.
We combine real-world self-defence principles with a child-centred, safeguarding-first approach, giving parents peace of mind while children build genuine confidence.

Why Short, Consistent Classes Work Best
Many parents worry their child won’t concentrate or will become overwhelmed.
Our 50-minute classes are long enough to create real progress, but short enough to:
🎯 Keep children engaged and focused
🎯 Prevent fatigue or overload
🎯 Leave children feeling successful, not exhausted
🎯 This helps confidence grow faster — especially for younger or quieter children.
New Starters Are Always Welcome
You don’t need to wait for a new term.
Children can:
🎯 Start at any time
🎯 Join at a level appropriate to their age and experience
🎯 Progress safely and confidently from day one
We also offer a FREE no-pressure induction class, so you can see if it’s right for your child before committing.
🛡 30-Day Child Confidence Guarantee
If after 30 days your child isn’t noticeably more confident, engaged, and comfortable in our classes, we’ll refund your money - no questions asked.

Mark is our club founder and Chief Instructor and a former Warrant Officer in the Royal Marines and Close Protection Operative, he enjoyed a distinguished military career spanning twenty-five years.
In 2005 Mark discovered Krav Maga and was instantly hooked by its simplicity and physical demands and trained extensively to become a high-level instructor.
Mark opened his first Krav Maga club in 2010 and passionately believes that good fitness and self-defence training should be evidence- based, demanding, enjoyable and accessible to everyone.

Natali’s journey with Krav Maga Somerset started in 2010 when the club first began, and has been present at the launch of every new club.
Natali soon learnt that the principles taught in Krav Maga are founded on technique over strength and found this hugely empowering. Natali qualified as an instructor in 2024, supporting our members in Bridgwater, Taunton and Wells.
Over the past 14 years, Natali has reached a high level of fitness and learnt skills which can be achieved by anyone regardless of size or gender or age and it is her passion to share this knowledge with others.
That’s very common. Our classes are designed to help quieter children gain confidence in a supportive, non-judgemental environment.
Many of our junior students join for this reason. We focus on confidence, resilience, and practical strategies that help children handle these situations more effectively.
Yes. Safety, structure, and positive coaching are at the heart of everything we do.
